Many expectant parents focus mainly on pregnancy and childbirth, but pay less attention to the period after birth. Despite evidence that preparing for life after childbirth is vital for new parents as it can boost self-confidence and make the transition to parenthood smoother. I am Melanie; mother of Oliver, Felipa and Alixe, also Doula and holistic energetic therapist. In recent years I have specialized in secure attachment. Good attachment is lifelong and plays a crucial role in learning sleeping habits in babies, which in my opinion is still receiving too little attention. During this informational evening “From pregnancy to parenthood” I will take you through the postpartum period, sleeping and bonding and I will offer practical tips to prevent sleep problems.

This informational evening will help you:

  • Gain insight into the postpartum period and how you can best recover
  • Understand why you want to put secure attachment as number 1 in the first few weeks
  • Understand the connection between secure attachment & sleep
  • Understand that sleeping is a behavior, and that you can learn behavior
  • Create a healthy (sleep) basis for the newborn phase and the years to come
  • Calm a restless baby
  • Recognize your baby’s signals and needs
  • Get a good flow during the day and night
